As you may know, I do photograph for the Grosse Pointe Historical Society. Each year, a home is featured (pictured below) for their annual Midsummer Gala Fundraiser as well as several properties are awarded historical plaque markers. The history of each is always fascinating along with the interesting people you meet along the way. This year, Bon Secours Chapel (now Beaumont) Grosse Pointe was among the plaque recipients. The story of the nuns was nothing short of amazing and inspirational. These women found a way to staff a facility and grow through some tough times, giving back to this community. The Grosse Pointe Historical Society does have a growing collection of photographic treasures. I am so glad to be part of this important organization and helping to create more Grosse Pointe history! There is so much to appreciate in our community, if you see a plaque find a way to learn more.
